Ok, yesterday, I went to Starbucks before work. I go probably 3 times a week, and more as the weather gets cooler. I am one of "those" who doesn't actually drink Coffee, I get Hot Chocolate.
A few Years ago, when I refused to spend more than a dollar for hot chocolate, I would frequent different stores ( 7-11, Valero, Race Trac, etc) to find the best one. Well, I found that the one at 7-11 is actually the best "bang for your buck". They have squirts of flavors and mix-ins that you can add to you drink for NO EXTRA CHARGE.
But, then one day, I decided to try the hot chocolate at Starbucks, and every since then, If I want some, I go there. Of course, If you want it to be Peppermint, they charge you like 30 cents. Everything costs extra......
Well, in today's hard times I have decided to only go to Starbucks like once a week maybe....
This morning was my first hot chocolate from 7-11 in a few years......and It wasn't bad...just not the same. They decided to TAKE AWAY the marshmallows from the condiments bar...how do you do that? Who doesn't put marshmallows in their hot chocolate these days.....At Starbucks you get whipped cream so there is no need for them.....
I was highly upset......and I told them they need to re evaluate that decision......seriously!!
So my cost for Starbucks yesterday was as follows: 3 mini-vanilla scones $1.95, 1 Tall hot chocolate $2.30, add Peppermint $0.30 , after tax total: $4.93
7-11 this morning: 1 12 oz. hot chocolate $1.09, 1 plain cake donut $0.89, for a grand total of $2.07.
So, by going the cheaper way, I saved $2.86.....but I am not sure I am as satisfied as when I go to Starbucks......the sacrifice's we have to make these days to save a dollar and get ahead....ugh!!

Starbucks is the best and you know it! So just skip the scones if you're trying to save money : )
