Opening Day

There is nothing like being at a baseball game on Opening Day. I have been to two and loved them....there are so many things going on and the hype of the new season is fresh. You're excited to see how well new players acquired in the off season will adjust, see changes made to the ball park and the weather..It's usually a nice Spring day( 75 and sunny). But Today, it is cold!! Still Sunny, but cold.

I wanted to go to Opening Day this year but it was at 1:05pm and I didn't ask for time off ahead of time. So with the rest of the working world, I will be listening on the radio or online.

I watched the Texas Rangers special last night on FSN, talking about changes they have made on and off the field. They have a new pitching coach which is a plus....AND Nolan Ryan is now in the Organization.....and double plus!! Maybe pitching will be half decent this year??

My team is the New York Mets......gotta love 'em! They have an awesome team and some very seasoned and athletic players. David Wright( 3rd baseman) is my favorite. And this year when they have the "Subway Showdown"( when the Mets play the Yankees), it will be a taught one for me. Mark Teixiera(all time fav) now plays for the hated Yankees....ugh!! As I can no longer wear anything that supports Teixeira, I can still root for the player that he is.....I wore my Mets stuff in NY, and I was talked into going into a Yankees store. I felt like such a trader!!!

Call me crazy but I also believe the Mets will not have a colossal collapse in the playoffs this year as they have the past two. I have a whole stock of Orange and Blue toothbrushes to keep some support going....I know it's weird. I have had an orange and blue toothbrush for the past two or three years. Well, Colgate decided to quit making that color combo!!! So, I went to Target and bought enough to last me at least throughout this baseball season....I will have to think of something else next year. But I a have a feeling THIS year is OUR year......GO METS!!! Enjoy Opening Day =)
