Flying Out.....A Sad day for me

Our last day in New York, we woke up to snow flurries! Nothing that was going to stick but It was nice to see. We started packing things up and getting ready to head out...

We checked out, hailed our cab and off to the airport we went. La Guardia was insane with long lines to go through security. After a long wait, I was up to be check and have my carry on scanned. After it was, A guy came to me with gloves and asked if it was my bag. I said, "Yes" and asked what was wrong with it?.....He said, "Ma'am I need to check the contents." Well, I was shocked since it was full of make up, my Chi flatiron and souvenirs. He opened it up and rummaged through it and pulled out my peanut butter( in an unopened PLASTIC jar) from the peanut butter place we had ate at a few days ago.

He proceeded to tell me, "This is considered a liquid. It can't go back in here." I said, "Excuse Me? Peanut Butter is considered a liquid? You're kidding right?" He said, "NO, I'm not." And then I started to get mad..lol...I said, "What am I going to do with it...make a bomb??"...He didn't find that funny, but at this point neither did I. In order to keep it,I was going to have to go back and go through ANOTHER line for liquids which was just insane and long. SO, I was livid at this point. That was one of my favorite things we did on the trip and now he taking away my keepsake of it?? I grabbed my bag and said"Well, then I guess you have to throw it away huh?"....And I cut my eyes at him and I know he knew I was mad but he didn't care. He probably gets paid $8/hr to make sure our planes are "safe".....that whole system is a joke!

After the upset from security, we decided to eat a slice of pizza for lunch. I didn't eat much of mine and threw it away. Our plane was delayed getting in so we were late boarding. After we settled in our seats, we sat on there for another hour waiting for fuel! Now we were way behind schedule. I decided after we took off, I wanted some Pringles they had for sale as a snack. I ate them and then took a mini nap. Our layover in Minneapolis was only for an hour and a half.

By the time we arrived, we literally had less than 10 minutes to get to our next flight before it took off, not boarded. We arrived at gate 9 I think, and the next flight took off from gate 19, I think. It was something you see straight out of the movies, us running through the airport bags in tow and trying to make our flight. All while Alicea was saying she needed to stop to use the bathroom. I said "hold it and go when we get on the plane"...lol She was not happy about it.

We reached our gate and we were able to have them re open the doors so we could board. This plane was smaller and it was so hot inside. There were a few people in front of me who didn't smell too fresh. And then right after take off, an older woman a few rows back decided to open up a Quizno's sandwich that smelled AWFUL!!! After, all of this commotion and the swirling smells that wouldn't go away, I ended up getting sick in the lavatory. Oh man, it was horrible!! I have never even used the bathroom on an airplane....they are small...lol

That drained the life out of me...so I had some water and gum and then put in my ear phones and rested my head on my jacket and cat napped the rest of the hour and a half flight.

We landed on time, called the shuttle to pick us up, and back home we went.

All in all, It was an awesome trip and I can't wait to go back. I did allot but there is so much more to see!! =)
