Good 'ol Hoboken

I think I have FINALLY found a solution involving moving to NYC... I did a little research and Hoboken, New Jersey is only about an hour train ride from Midtown Manhattan(Penn Station)!!! It's just across the Hudson...you can go to the park and see the city skyline....amazing!! And I think it's an area that is very calm and will allow me to keep my car and drive around with out the confusion.

It is considered the "bedroom community" of NYC. And at one time, it had a hopping night life. And the AmTrack goes to Boston(Back Bay area- very cool) and D.C. That is even better...I can go all over with a simple train ride. But it is close enough where I can go to the city as much as I want...It's perfect!! I also researched the population....Mckinney is bigger than Hoboken. Well, I had to go by the 2007 Census but, back then it only had 40,000 people......Mckinney has like 120,000. It does not have a servicing airport but the ones from NYC or Newark are not far away at all.

To buy an apartment there is still very expensive. But I found a few that are Studio apartments in the range of $600-900/mo. That is not bad at all.....but don't get me wrong, they are not like the $2,000/mo ones I saw. But hey, we all gotta start somewhere...

Here are a few FF's(fun facts) I found about Hoboken: The Oreo Cookie was first sold there....the zipper was invented there....It was also the location of the first recorded baseball game in the United States. And I am pretty sure they have all four seasons...which we don't have in Texas.
On a side note: I burned my ear with my flatiron over the weekend...and every time I have to talk on the phone at work, it hurts it....

You only have one thing to worry about. EVERYONE will make fun of you for living in Jersey. Jersey is some kind of joke to New Yorhers. So just dont tell anybody were you live. Who knows... I might go with you!
