Small Texas Towns and Good Tunes

This past weekend I went to Oklahoma for a short 24 hr. trip to help my sister out with watching the kiddos. Ben had an event at school so I stayed there to watch Brinley and Bowen. Let's just say...I don't think I was meant to watch a child under the age of probably 18 months..lol....I just freak out and don't know what to do when they won't stop crying...and oh, all of the holding involved! It was making my arms tired...

Anyway, On my way home the next morning, I decided that I was tired of listening to all of the Pop music on the radio. They lyrics have become ridiculous..."Shut your lips, and do the Helen Keller with your hips.."....."Take a ride on my disco stick....."Do the Stanky leg..."....What kinda of trash is that??? That's just crazy!! So, I popped in some good 'ol country music, which I have been straying away from recently, thanks to NKOTB. I was listening to my beloved Gary Allan and started to miss all of my country music. I listened to it the whole way home....and it just felt "right" to me. No weird lyrics or nasty suggestions.....I even downloaded more country songs on my iPhone. I was trying to stay away from putting alot of music on there but oh well, I wanted it on there.

Then, I was going through all of the small towns from OKC to Mckinney.....and I realized that I'm torn...maybe I wasn't meant to live in a big city. I love some things about the small towns and I love some things about big cities. Sadler, Texas has the population of probably 300 people...but it just seemed so cozy. And, while I was in deep thought, I remembered I want to marry a Rancher!! I used to say a few years ago, when I was into watching the PBR(prof. bull riding) that I wanted to move to Wyoming or Montana and have a ranch and marry a Rancher and raise bucking bulls...lol Where am I going to do that in a big city??

But then I remember that small towns don't have all of the shopping advantages of a big city....and I have to stay up with the times in pop culture...minus some of the crazy music..lol Now, do you see why I am torn...the possibilities of a big city or the coziness of a small town....

You just don't want me to move far away...even though you trot across the U.S. all the time! lol

Hey found your blog in my google alerts. Gotta love Gary Allan. I live in a town of about 800 people. I hear ya. No shopping - Nothing to do - but you can send your kids out to play and not have to worry about them as much. Rather nice. I always said I was going to marry a rancher too. Funny!!! Love your blog.
