FAIL!!!

I decided to steam some seasoned chicken last night for dinner. It was really good...thanks to Ziploc Steam Bags. Those things are magical...lol...And I decided to saute some squash. Not a good Idea....AT ALL!! I have no cooking skills...I smoked out the apartment. My roommate was saying her eyes were burning. Not sure I will be doing that again...I will probably have to steam it from now on. I just don't like the taste of them like that. Any suggestions on what I can put on them after steaming them to mask the taste??

But I will say on today, Day 4, this has been the yummiest breakfast yet. I had a 130calorie Whole Wheat English muffin with 2 tbsp. Fat Free cream cheese for 30 calories, and 1/4 cup of scrambled egg whites for 30 calories on it. And I had water and an orange....All for a little under 300 calories. The combo was perfect!!

I am getting the hang of this. My roommate has been eating Wendy's in front of me all week. And I have NOT wanted it...AT ALL. Now the real test will be the first time I go out to eat with friends. I am planning on going to a Ranger Game this weekend....hopefully I will not be tempted. Maybe I should save my Week 1 Success Treat for then...

This is how I usually prepare squash (beside frying!)...
slice onion, squash and zuchinni (my fave) add salt and a little olive oil then wrap them up in foil and bake at 350 degrees.

While you steam (any veggie, really), cut up about 2-3 cloves of garlic, coat the bottom of a pan with olive oil, and cook (for lack of a better cooking word) the garlic in the oil until the garlic starts to bubble (about a minute). While the oil/garlic is hot, pour it (oil/garlic mixture) over the steamed veggies and mix it around as delicately as possible. You can add a dash of salt if you like.
